Rust & Sprinkler Stain Removal
The orange stains that pressure alone will not touch
Pressure Cleans Around a Rust Stain, Not Out of It
This is the one job where more pressure genuinely does not help. Sprinkler rust is iron that has oxidized inside the pores of the concrete, so a pressure washer cleans the slab around it and leaves the orange exactly where it was, sometimes looking worse against the newly clean concrete. It needs a rust specific treatment that dissolves the iron, then a controlled rinse.

Stains This Treatment Is For
- Orange sprinkler and irrigation rust
- Fertilizer burn and iron supplement marks
- Battery acid and metal furniture rust rings
- Well water staining on concrete and stone
What We Will Tell You Honestly
- Whether your stain is surface rust or deeply set
- That old, deep staining lightens rather than vanishes
- If the source is still running, so it does not just return
- The realistic result before we take the job, not after
Rust and Staining Questions
Why will pressure washing not remove rust stains?
Because rust is not sitting on the concrete, it is oxidized iron that has soaked into the pores. Pressure cleans the surface around it, which often makes the orange look worse against freshly cleaned concrete. Removing it takes a treatment that chemically dissolves the iron.
What causes orange stains on a driveway or patio?
Almost always irrigation water carrying iron, which is why the stains often trace the arc of a sprinkler head. Fertilizer with an iron supplement does the same thing, as do metal furniture feet and a leaking battery. The pattern usually tells you which one you have.
Will the stain come back after treatment?
Not from the same deposit, but yes if the source is still running. Treating rust while an iron rich sprinkler keeps hitting the same slab means it returns. We will point out the source so it can be adjusted or filtered, because otherwise you are paying to do this again.
Can every rust stain be removed completely?
Not every one, and we would rather say so first. Fresh and moderate staining usually comes out completely. Deep staining that has been sitting for years generally lightens substantially rather than disappearing, and any promise of a guaranteed complete removal on old rust is worth treating with suspicion.
